Finally remembered the fix to this Sometimes when you update or reinstall, project files default programs get unassigned which will cause the Export To Premiere Pro box to be greyed out. It must have permanently changed a file setting in the user profile because I fixed it by deleting the profile. Im not saying that this is a solution really, but try doing this without closing Premiere - it seems to work fine like that.
